The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond is the sequel to the 2023 blockbuster Hindi film The Kerala Story. Directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, the film has generated legal and political debate following its teaser and trailer release. Ulka Gupta, Aditi Bhatia, and Aishwarya Ojha played the lead roles.

The Kerala High Court on Thursday (February 26) stayed the release of the movie Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond, following pleas challenging its censor certification. The film was supposed to hit the big screens tomorrow. The HC opined that the Central Board of Film Certification had not applied its mind while issuing the certification.

Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas also asked the Central Board of Film Certification to re-examine the issue within a period of two weeks. Until the fresh orders are passed, the movie shall not be released.

The development comes after the interim applications filed by the Petitioners. Earlier, the Court had expressed its willingness to watch the movie before deciding on the verdict, but the producer denied it.
