The examination is conducted for offering the admissions in Postgraduate & Integrated Ph.D programme in the field of M.Sc studies. IIT JAM 2023 Cut Off


Generally the cut-off is the minimum marks to qualify the exam. If candidate obtain the cut-off marks than he/she will be eligible for the further rounds of counselling. IIT JAM 2023 Cut Off is maintained on the factors like difficulty level of the exam, how many candidates appeared in the exam, marking scheme and availability of seats in various institutions.

Through cut-off marks candidates get the rough idea whether they are eligible for counselling or admission. Candidates can also estimate the marks they have to be obtained in the entrance exam to be qualified in the entrance exam. The authority generates the category wise cut-off for all categories. Candidates can check the cut-off with the release of first admission list in June 2023.

IIT JAM Cut Off Importance​

  • Through cut-off, candidates will be shortlisted for the admission in the M.Sc courses.
  • The admission to the participating institutions will be offered on the basis of cut-off.
  • Candidates will be invited for the admission according to their preference of courses and cut-off.
  • The cut-off will be released subject-wise for all PG offered courses.
  • All IITS and IISC will declare the separate cut-off for admitting the candidates in their campuses.

IIT JAM Rank & Merit List 2023


Based on the performance of the candidate, for each test paper the All India Rank is allotted to the qualified candidates. Based in AIR rank of the candidates a separate merit list will be prepared.

A merit list is prepared on the basis of total number of availability of category-wise seats in all institutions.

Candidates whose names will appear in All India Merit rank list will be eligible to take admission. Candidates are assigned the AIR as per their category mentioned in the application form.

(First Admission List) will be released on 1st June 2023. For attending the IIT JAM counselling 2023, candidates have to fill the admission form. Candidates who have qualified the examination are only eligible for the admission.

Tie-Breaking​


The tie-breaking scheme will be accepted by the authority in case two candidates will secure same aggregate marks in a test. The candidate with a higher numbers of positive marks to negative marks will be given a higher rank. If this criterion will not work to break ties, the candidates will be provided with the same ranks.
