Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) completed seven years on September 23rd . It is the world’s largest government-funded health insurance scheme, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi . More than 55 crore people have benefited under this scheme so far. Launched in Ranchi in September 2018, it is the world’s largest government-funded health insurance scheme. It provides annual health insurance of Rs 5 lakh to families, making cashless and paperless treatment possible across the country. So far, more than 10 crore 30 lakh people have registered in hospitals under this scheme. Cashless facility has been provided to 1 crore 48 lakh people.

2 Goa celebrates 10th National Ayurveda Day, launches new initiative with the theme “Ayurveda for People and Planet”​

The Ministry of AYUSH celebrated the 10th National Ayurveda Day on 23 September at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa . This year’s theme was ” Ayurveda for People and Planet . ” Previously, Ayurveda Day was celebrated on Dhanteras every year, based on the lunar calendar, in honor of Lord Dhanvantari, the physician of the gods. The date kept changing every year. Therefore, the Government of India decided to celebrate it on a fixed day, September 23rd, every year from 2025. This was notified through a gazette notification issued in March 2025. Several dignitaries attended the event, including Goa Governor Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, Union Minister of State for AYUSH (Independent Charge) Prataprao Jadhav, and Union Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy Shripad Naik. Several new initiatives were launched on the occasion, including the “Desh Ka Swasthya Pariksha” campaign and the DRAVYA portal. New facilities were inaugurated at AIIA Goa, several international and national MoUs were signed, and the Ran-Bhaji Festival was held. The festival showcased a variety of forest vegetables. are part of the Ayurvedic diet. The National Dhanvantari Ayurveda Awards 2025 were also presented at the event. These awards were given to Prof. Banwarilal Gaur, Vaidya Neelkanthan Moose E.T. and Vaidya Bhavana Prasher for their contributions to Ayurveda and allied sciences. Publications and technical reports such as 25 Years Journey of NMPB, Ayurveda for Sports Medicine and Ayurveda Insight for Restful Sleep were also released.

3 Rajnath Singh inaugurates Tata Advanced Systems’ defence production plant in Morocco​

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and his Moroccan counterpart, Abdellatif Louadi, on Tuesday inaugurated Tata Advanced Systems Limited’s (TASL) new defense production plant in Barrechid, Morocco . Spread over 20,000 square meters, the plant has significantly strengthened India-Morocco strategic relations. It is Morocco’s largest defense production plant and the first such plant established by an Indian private company in Africa . The plant will produce the indigenously developed Wheeled Armored Platform (WhAP) 8×8, jointly designed by TASL and India’s Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). The WhAP features a modular design, advanced mobility, scalable ballistic and mine protection, independent suspension, a high-power engine, and options for manned and automated weapon stations. Its various variants include infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers, reconnaissance vehicles, command posts, mortar carriers, and ambulances. Production has already begun, and the first deliveries to the Royal Moroccan Army are expected next month. The plant became operational three months ahead of schedule.

Renowned Malayalam cinema actor Mohanlal was honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award at the 71st National Film Awards . The award was presented to him at a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi. Films like ” 12th Fail ,” ” Jawan ,” ” Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway, ” and ” Kathal – A Jackfruit Mystery ” also won major awards. The inspirational biopic ” 12th Fail, ” directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, won the Best Feature Film award. The satirical and satirical film ” Kathal – A Jackfruit Mystery ,” starring Sanya Malhotra , won the Best Hindi Film award. The Best Actor award was jointly shared between Shah Rukh Khan for his powerful performance in the dual role of ” Jawan ” and the action-drama dealing with social issues. Vikrant Massey for his sensitive and profound portrayal of ” 12th Fail ,” which established him among India’s finest actors. Veteran actress Rani Mukerji won the Best Actress award for her powerful performance in “ Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway ”. The Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest award in Indian cinema, given to artists who have made significant contributions in shaping and shaping the direction of Indian cinema. The 71st National Film Awards 2023 were announced to recognize excellence in Indian cinema. The ceremony was organized by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and the Central Jury for the Feature Film category was chaired by Ashutosh Gowariker.

Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi stated that India’s total solar energy potential is estimated at approximately 3,343 gigawatts . Releasing the National Institute of Solar Energy’s Solar Photovoltaic Potential Report in New Delhi, Joshi stated that the report is not merely a technical document, but a blueprint of India’s solar potential. Joshi stated that it will pave the way for future investment, accelerate innovation, and shape India’s leadership in the clean energy sector in the coming decades. According to the report, India has an estimated 3,343 gigawatts of photovoltaic solar potential, with Rajasthan alone having over 800 gigawatts of this potential . Joshi stated that this is a significant step forward in the field of renewable energy.

6 Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched the Develop India Buildathon 2025 in New Delhi​

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched the Develop India Buildathon 2025 in New Delhi . The initiative aims to promote creativity and self-reliance among youth . The Department of School Education and Literacy , Ministry of Education , in collaboration with the Atal Innovation Mission of NITI Aayog , will organize it from October 13. Students can register for it from September 23 to October 6. Mr. Pradhan said that in the last 11 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given priority to innovation. He said that the government has also launched the Atal Innovation Mission to promote innovation among school students.

Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger have announced their withdrawal from the International Criminal Court . The military-led governments of these countries have stated that the Court has become a tool of neo-colonial repression . They said it is targeting African countries while ignoring broader global crimes. The three countries have accused the Court of failing to effectively address war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity. The three countries will now create a regional mechanism for justice through their Sahel countries coalition. Formed after a coup between 2020 and 2023, the coalition aims to reduce the influence of Western countries, including France, and strengthen ties with Russia.

8 S&P Global: Domestic demand and tax reforms will keep India’s growth stable at 6.5% in FY26​

India’s GDP growth is expected to remain stable at 6.5 percent in the financial year 2025-26 (FY26) on the back of strong domestic demand, Goods and Services Tax (GST) and income tax reforms, says a latest report by S&P Global . According to S&P Global’s ‘Q4 Asia Pacific Economic Outlook’ report, domestic demand will be boosted by a favourable monsoon, tax cuts and government investment.

9 The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development has raised India’s GDP growth forecast by 40 basis points to 6.7 percent in 2025.​

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development has raised India’s GDP growth forecast for 2025 by 40 basis points to 6.7 percent , compared to 6.3 percent in June. The OECD’s latest “World Economic Outlook” said that monetary and fiscal policy easing and strong GST reforms are expected to boost overall activity. However, it also said that high tariff rates will put pressure on the country’s export sector.

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Developing India: Civil Services and Digital Transformation’. The two-day conference, held from September 22-23, 2025, was inaugurated by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, and N. Chandrababu Naidu, Union Minister of Human Resource Development.
