Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off Assam’s first Vande Bharat Express train in Guwahati through video conference . This train will connect Guwahati to New Jalpaiguri and travel time will come down to five hours and 30 minutes. Please tell that this is the first Vande Bharat train of Northeast and the third of West Bengal. Will be The trial run of this train took place on Sunday, 21 May 2023 between New Jalpaiguri to Guwahati. This is the second Vande Bharat train to run from New Jalpaiguri. Earlier, a Vande Bharat was run from New Jalpaiguri to Howrah. The Prime Minister also inaugurated the newly constructed Diesel Electric Multiple Unit and Main Line Multiple Unit shed at Lumding in Assam. Shri Modi also dedicated 182 kilometer long newly electrified railway sections to the nation. With this, electric trains will be able to go to Meghalaya.

3 ISRO launches navigation satellite NVS-1​

Indian Space Research Organisation- ISRO successfully launched the country’s first second generation navigation satellite NVS -01 by GSLV-F-12 from Satish Dhawan Space Center at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh . GSLV-F-12 successfully orbited the navigation satellite NVS-01. The 2,232 kg satellite is the first of the second generation satellites envisaged for navigation along the Indian constellation.

ISRO Chairman said that the target is to launch Chandrayaan in July and ISRO is working in this direction. Chandrayaan-3 is a follow-up mission to Chandrayaan-2 which will demonstrate the capability to land safely on the Moon. It consists of an indigenous lander module, a propulsion module and a rover. The lander and rover will carry payloads for experiments on the lunar surface.

9 India’s Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam to start second hydroelectric project Arun-4 in Nepal​

Nepal has given permission to India ‘s Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam – SJVN to start the second hydroelectric project in Nepal . SJVN is currently developing the 900 MW Arun-3 Hydroelectric Project on the Arun River in eastern Nepal. It is likely to be completed in the year 2024. The draft project development agreement was approved at a meeting of the Nepal Investment Board chaired by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, an official statement said. The agreement will be signed with Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam of India to develop the 669 MW Lower Arun Hydroelectric Project in Eastern Nepal.

NITI Aayog ‘s Annual ‘ Health Index ‘ for Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana during the Covid period for the year 2020-21‘ has emerged as the top performer among the ‘big states’. Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Odisha have emerged as the top three performers in the year 2020-21 as compared to their performance in the year 2019-20.

15 UPI transfers to dominate the Indian digital payments landscape by 2027​

According to a report titled ” The Indian Payments Handbook – 2022-27 ” by PwC India (PricewaterhouseCoopers) , the value of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transactions is estimated to reach $1 billion per day by FY 2026-27 . Under this, 90% increase in terms of retail digital payments in the country which will further strengthen the position of UPI in India’s digital payments system. The report states that during the financial year 2022-23, about 75% of the total transfers in the retail sector were done in UPI. The Indian digital payments market is expected to witness a significant compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 50% in terms of transaction volume with an estimated growth of 103 billion transactions in FY 2022-23 to 411 billion transactions in FY 2026-27. Further, the report shows the profitability of the credit card business, which accounts for about 76% of the total card revenue in the year 2022-2023. It added that the revenue from credit card issuance witnessed a substantial growth of 42% over the previous year and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 33% over the next five years.

Pune- based state-owned lender Bank of Maharashtra (BoM) has been ranked as the best bank in managing bad loans by achieving a remarkably low net non-performing assets (NPA) ratio of 0.25% during the financial year ending March 2023. recognized as such.
