In conclusion, it is held that:i) The constitutional mandate of informing thearrestee the grounds of arrest is mandatory in alloffences under all statutes including offencesunder IPC 1860 (now BNS 2023);ii) The grounds of arrest must be communicated inwriting to the arrestee in the language he/sheunderstands;iii) In case(s) where, the arresting officer/person isunable to communicate the grounds
