Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading name in the global IT services sector, has been named in the 2024 Global 500 IT Services Ranking by Brand Finance . a significant milestone by achieving the status of the second most valuable IT services brand in the world This achievement underlines TCS’s commitment towards innovation, sustainability and global expansion, making it a leader in the technology industry. TCS’ brand value to increase from $17.2 billion in 2023 to $19.2 billion in 2024. This year-on-year growth of 11.5% is the highest absolute value growth among the top 25 leading IT companies globally.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia presented the Wings India Awards 2024 at an event held in Hyderabad . Bangalore and Delhi airports have jointly won the Best Airport of the Year award in the fourth edition of “ Wings India Awards ” in the civil aviation sector . Vistara received the Best Airline of the Year award . Air India has been recognized for international connectivity while Alliance Air has been recognized for regional connectivity . Air India Express declared Sustainability Champion. GMR Group has been awarded as the Best Aviation Service Provider , while for cargo services , Skyways Air Services , Indian Oil Skytanking Pvt Ltd has been awarded the Best Aviation Service Provider. has been awarded asLtd. for fuel services, GMR for Aero Academy. Apart from these, many other organizations were recognized by Wings India for their excellence in various categories of civil aviation.

3 Persian will also be included in the 9 classical languages of India​

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has decided to include Persian as one of the nine classical languages of India under the new education policy of the Government of India . This decision is an important step to deepen their cultural ties. S Jaishankar, who is on a two-day visit to Iran , met his Iranian counterpart , said this in a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart H Amir-Abdullahian . Earlier in 2004, Tamil had got the status of the first classical language of India. Later, names of other languages like Sanskrit, Kannada, Malayalam and Oriya were added to this list.

4 Artificial reef project started in Vizhinjam to increase fish population​

In a significant step to boost fish production and promote sustainable fishing, Union Fisheries Minister Parshottam Rupala launched an artificial reef project in Vizhinjam , Kerala . inauguratedThe initiative aims to double the income of fishermen by increasing fish stocks and contributing to the economic well-being of the local fishing community. The project is designed to boost fishery resources in the area, thereby improving the livelihood of traditional fishermen. Kerala State Coastal Development Corporation, with technical assistance from the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), is overseeing the project. The project will deploy 6,300 artificial reef units in 42 fishing villages from Pozhiyur to Varkala in Thiruvananthapuram district.

People of this community were demanding to teach Hindi to their children in schools. Fremont has the largest population of Indian Americans in California.

A World Health Organization (WHO) panel is set to collaborate with other health authorities to deliberate on this mysterious health threat. In 2017 the WHO designated Disease _ Essentially, it represents a disease arising from an unknown but serious microbial threat, with COVID-19 serving as a concrete example.

7 Rare Tibetan brown bear found for the first time in India​

Tibetan brown bear has been seen for the first time in India . Sikkim Forest Department and WWF-India have captured this rare species of bear on their cameras in the hilly areas of Sikkim. Indian Forest Service officer Parveen Kaswan (IFS Parveen Kaswan) has shared the picture on social media, calling it extremely rare. Another subspecies has been added to the Indian wildlife. He further said that this animal has been captured on camera in the higher reaches of Sikkim due to the joint efforts of Sikkim Forest Department and WWF. That means a lot of India is still left to be explored.

8 L&T gets mega order for Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project​

L&T Construction ‘s Railway Strategic Business Group has won a landmark contract worth between ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 crore for a critical section of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project . The ‘mega’ order received from a Japanese agency overseeing the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Project (MAHSR) includes 508 route km of high-speed electrification works. involves the construction ofL&T told the stock market that the company’s Railway Strategic Business Group has received a mega order for the construction of electrification system on 508 km route for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (MAHSR) project. This project is known as Bullet Train Project. After the electrification system is built, the country’s first bullet train will be able to run at a speed of 320 kilometers per hour on this route. This project is being financed by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

10 Apple overtakes Samsung to become top smartphone maker for the first time since 2010​

Apple has sold the most smartphones globally in 2023, leaving behind Korean company Samsung . This has been revealed in the IDC report. After almost 13 years, Apple has left Samsung behind in terms of mobile shipments worldwide . The company has sold a total of 236.4 million mobile units in 2023, which is 8 million units more than Samsung. According to the IDC report, global smartphone shipments have declined by 3.2% in 2023 to a total of 1.17 billion units shipped, which is the lowest in the last 10 years.

11 You can make UPI payment abroad through Google Pay​

NPCI is continuously taking several steps to increase digital payments in the country . Now apart from India, payment can be done through UPI in many countries of the world. An agreement has been signed between NPC and Google to promote UPI Payment . Google India Digital Services and NPCI International Payments Limited have partnered to expand UPI payments to countries outside India. The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will enable Indian travelers to make payments in other countries through Google Pay (also known as GPay). In such a situation, the problem of carrying cash or foreign currency while going abroad will end.

12 LIC introduces Jeevan Dhara II deferred annuity plan​

This plan provides life cover during the deferment period and claims higher annuity rates at older ages. The newly launched plan is a non-participating plan, which offers unique benefits to policyholders. Jeevan Section II provides life cover during the moratorium period, thereby increasing the financial security of policyholders.

Two Arogya Maitri Disaster Management Cubes – Bhishma – revolutionary mobile hospitals equipped with state-of-the-art technology have been deployed to enhance medical preparedness and response capabilities during the upcoming ‘ Pran Pratishtha ’ ceremony in Ayodhya . Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will reach Ayodhya for the Pran Pratistha ceremony on January 22, 2024 and 8,000 guests are likely to attend the event. This Aid Cube has the capability to be deployed within an astonishing 12 minutes, regardless of mass casualty incidents (MCI), requiring everything from basic aid to advanced medical and surgical care.

14 Tata Group bags IPL title sponsorship for next 5 years​

Tata Sons Private Limited has successfully exercised its Right to Match card by retaining the prestigious title sponsorship of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the upcoming five seasons from 2024 to 2028 . This development follows the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued an invitation to tender (ITT) for the title sponsorship rights in late December 2023. In 2022, Tata Group initially replaced Chinese mobile manufacturer Vivo as the IPL title sponsor for the 2022 and 2023 seasons , contributing Rs 365 crore per season. With its current decision to retain the title sponsorship, the Group is set for an extended and major association with the world’s most lucrative cricket league.

India’s Man Singh won the gold medal at the Asian Marathon Championships 2024 in Hong Kong with a personal best timing of two hours 14 minutes and 19 seconds . The 34-year-old Indian marathon runner defeated China ‘s Huang Yongzheng by a margin of 65 seconds. Tiapkin Ilya of Kyrgyzstan finished third with a timing of 2 hours 18 minutes 18 seconds. Earlier, Man Singh had achieved a personal best of 2 hours 16 minutes 58 seconds in Mumbai Marathon 2023 . In the women’s event, India’s Ashwini Jadhav finished eighth with a timing of 2 hours 56 minutes 42 seconds and Jyoti Gawte finished 11th with a timing of 3 hours 6 minutes 20 seconds . The entry standard for the women’s marathon at the Paris 2024 Olympics is 2 hours 26 minutes 50 seconds.
