Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has announced ‘ Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana ‘. Under this scheme, 1 crore families of the country will get solar energy on the roof of their house. In a social media post, Mr Modi said that the people of the country should have solar systems on their rooftops. He said that this will not only reduce the electricity bill of the poor and middle class, but will also make India self-reliant in the energy sector.

Union Culture and Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy has inaugurated five new galleries in the Salar Jung Museum in Hyderabad . fiveSpeaking on the occasion, Shri Reddy said that Salar Jung Museum, one of the most prestigious museums of India, has reorganized the old galleries. The museum has made efforts for innovation and upgrading by adding new galleries. The Indian Sculpture Gallery has forty old sculptures from the second century, like the statue of Anantshayana Vishnu from the Kakatiya period. There are three hundred unique objects in the Bidrikala gallery. The European Bronze Gallery houses more than a hundred bronze sculptures and the Marble Gallery houses fifty marble sculptures.

AN-32 courier service in Kargil , Union Territory of Ladakh startedDuring the first flight, the Indian Air Force airlifted 11 passengers from Kargil to Jammu and seven passengers from Jammu to Kargil. A total of 26 tableaux will be included in the Republic Day Parade on Kartavi Path in New Delhi this year . Of these, there will be 16 tableaux of states and union territories and 10 tableaux of ministries, departments and organizations . The states and union territories include tableaux of Arunachal Pradesh , Haryana , Manipur , Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh , Ladakh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat , Meghalaya , Jharkhand , Uttar Pradesh and Telangana .

6 India-Kyrgyzstan Joint Special Forces Exercise Khanjar begins in Himachal Pradesh​

India-Kyrgyzstan ‘s 11th joint special forces exercise Khanjar has started at Special Forces Training School, Bakloh , Himachal Pradesh . This exercise will run from 22 January to 3 February 2024 . The exercise is an annual event held alternately in both the countries. The Indian Army contingent of 20 personnel is being represented by soldiers of the Parachute Regiment (Special Forces) and the Kyrgyzstan contingent of 20 personnel is being represented by the Scorpion Brigade. The objective of this exercise is to exchange experiences and best practices in counter-terrorism and special forces operations in the built up areas and mountainous areas under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter .

7 Indian Army Special Forces contingent reached Egypt for joint exercise ‘Cyclone’​

A 25-personnel Indian Army contingent has reached Egypt to participate in the second edition of the India-Egypt joint special forces exercise ‘ Cyclone ‘ . The exercise will be conducted from 22 January to 1 February 2024 at Anshas, Egypt . The first edition of the exercise was conducted in India last year. In this exercise, the Indian contingent is being represented by soldiers of the Parachute Regiment (Special Forces) and the Egyptian contingent of 25 personnel is being represented by the Egyptian Commando Squadron and the Egyptian Airborne Platoon. The objective of the exercise is to familiarize both sides with each other’s operating procedures in the backdrop of special operations in desert/semi-desert areas under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations.

13 Maharashtra gymnast Aryan Dawande wins boys’ artistic all-round gold​

Former champion Maharashtra has got its first gold medal in gymnastics in Khelo India Youth Sports Competition-2023 . Aryan Dawande of Maharashtra won the gold medal in the boys’ artistic all-round competition . Dawande secured the top position by scoring a total of 73.200 points, defeating Pranav Mishra of Uttar Pradesh (72.470 points). Harshit from Uttar Pradesh won the bronze medal with a score of 71.700 points, where boys have to perform on six different apparatus to decide the winner. The gold medal helped Maharashtra reach third place in the overall table with a total of 10 medals including four silver and six bronze. Host Tamil Nadu continues to top the medal tally with five gold medals.

14 Foundation Day of Manipur, Meghalaya and Tripura​

On January 21, 1972, the three states were granted full statehood under the North-Eastern Areas (Reorganization) Act, 1971 . There were strong differences of opinion in the Legislative Assembly of Manipur regarding merger with India. The Government of India succeeded in getting an instrument of accession signed without consulting the Legislative Assembly of Manipur in September 1949. After the death of the last Maharaja Bir Bikram Singh of Tripura on May 17, 1947, Maharani Kanchanprabha (wife of Maharaja Bir Bikram) took over the representation of the state of Tripura. He played a supporting role in the merger of Tripura state into the Indian Union. Meghalaya, a small hill state located in the north-eastern region of India, came into existence as an autonomous state within the state of Assam on April 2, 1970 .
