Ural Federal University Brings New International Opportunities For Students And Staff

From April 18 to 21, UrFU hosted international guests at GSEM as part of the annual GSEM International Partner Days (GSEM VIP Days). During the week, representatives of GSEM and international academic partners from South Korea, China, France, Portugal, Algeria, Turkey, India, Morocco, Sri Lanka, Indonesia participated in an intensive program of events. The main purpose of the event was to develop international cooperation and find new promising joint projects.

The program of GSEM VIP Days 2023 consisted of 4 main parts. The first one is networking with colleagues, exchange of ideas on the development of cooperation and searching for new opportunities. The program included meetings of international partners with GSEM top management, as well as heads of GSEM international education programs and faculties.

The second part is acquaintance with UrFU and GSEM. Representatives of international business partners took a virtual tour of the university. They were immersed in the student environment and learned more about university traditions.

The third part was aimed at encouraging GSEM students to get involved in international programs and get acquainted with the proposals of the partners. The double degree program was presented by KEDGE Business School from France. Presentations were also made by SILC Business School (Shanghai University, China), ESCA School of Management (Morocco), Anadolu University (Turkey), Sakarya University (Turkey), University Larbi Ben Mhidi, Oum el Bouaghi (Algeria), Kyungpook National University, College of Economics and Business Administration (South Korea), Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (India). Professor Jose Vergara (Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso, Chile) held a meeting with students of International Economics and Business. He spoke about the development of the economy, industry and international economic relations in Chile.

Another part of the event was the Round Table “Internationalization of Research in a Business School”. Researchers from GSEM, ESCA School of Management (Morocco), Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (India), University Larbi Ben Mhidi, Oum el Bouaghi (Algeria), Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, School of Business Administration (China) discussed the main trends and opportunities for the development of international research cooperation and identified priority areas for the implementation of joint projects with GSEM UrFU in the near future.

“This year’s International Partner Days program was really intense and active. We managed to get real practical results and outline new international projects that are interesting for both students and staff. The university is grateful to all partners and invites everyone to join us next spring,” said Ekaterina Demchenko, Director of the GSEM International Affairs Office.
