Recently, Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has sought US$ 100 million from the Defense Ministry to develop a high-powered laser weapon , named. Directionally Unrestricted Ray-Gun Array. Array- DURGA) II , which is a lightweight directed energy weapon (DEW). It is a lightweight DEW of 100 kW and can be used by the armed forces as well. It aims to provide the Indian Armed Forces with state-of-the-art technology capable of neutralizing various threats including drones, missiles and artillery shells. It is a type of weapon system that emits highly concentrated energy, usually in the form of a laser, microwave or particle beam, to disable or destroy targets. Unlike conventional firearms or explosives which rely on kinetic energy (physical impact), DEWs use directed energy to achieve their effects.

6 India to host 46th Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting​

India will host the 46th Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meeting (ATCM 46) and the 26th meeting of the Committee on Environmental Protection (CEP 26) in Kochi, Kerala from May 20 to 30, 2024. Recently, China has launched the first of the eight Hangar class submarines being prepared for Pakistan . It is a diesel-electric attack submarine . It is larger than the Kalvari-class submarines of the Indian Navy , with a displacement of 2,800 tonnes compared to 1,775 tonnes of the Kalvari-class. The Hangor class has Air Independent Propulsion (AIP). AIP allows submarines to remain submerged for long periods of time. The AIP is planned to be installed on the first Scorpene class submarine INS Kalvari in the year 2024. In terms of armament both carry torpedoes and anti-ship missiles, the Kalvari class probably has the more modern and battle-tested armament. The larger size of the Hangar class compared to the smaller Kalvari class may hinder its maneuverability in coastal waters.

The sum insured for life, personal accident and property cover is Rs 2 lakh, while the health cover (hospital cash) offers a sum assured of Rs 500 for 10 days, with a maximum of Rs 5,000 available without the need to produce bills or documents. . Agents selling insurance extension policies earn a commission of 10%, which encourages wider distribution of the product and its adoption by more people.
