Remember when Trivikram said Megastar Chiranjeevi is the last matinee idol, a claim the star has once again proved right with his latest venture. Not just younger audiences, even older viewers are keen to watch his new movie, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu. The film is smashing records left, right, and centre.

While the Rs. 300 crore gross mark is just a day away, the film has already emerged as one of the biggest Sankranthi releases. It has also gone on to shatter two major records that deserve special mention. Interestingly, both records previously belonged to his own family members, Ram Charan and Pawan Kalyan.

Ram Charan’s global blockbuster RRR has now been outshined by Chiranjeevi’s latest box-office hit. Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu posted the highest Day 5 collections in Telugu states, relegating RRR to second place.

Another massive feat achieved by Chiranjeevi is breaking his brother Pawan Kalyan’s They Call Him OG record. On BookMyShow, the lifetime tickets sold for OG stood at 2.78 million, a figure that Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu crossed in just 6 days. The film has so far sold 2.81 million tickets on the platform and is expected to cross the 3 million mark very soon.

Even at 70, Chiranjeevi continues to set new benchmarks that younger heroes aspire to match. With the film showing no signs of slowing down, more records are likely to fall, firmly positioning it on the path toward industry-hit status.
