Director Venky Kudumula has opened up about the disappointing box office performance of Robinhood, admitting that he was responsible for the film’s failure.
The filmmaker clarified that the delay was not the reason behind its poor performance. Venky said he stepped outside his comfort zone and attempted to create a different cinematic world featuring a villain who takes over a village for ganja.
However, he believes this experimental approach ultimately backfired. The director also revealed that the outcome might have been different if the security guard track in the first half had been developed entirely as a romantic comedy.
