Indian Post has begun the GDS Registration 2023 process for Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), Dak Sevak posts. Eligible and interested candidates can apply online through the official website at indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.

The interested candidates can register online and pay the Online fee for the India Post GDS recruitment through the official website of India Post. The link to apply online has been activated on its official website at indiapost.gov.in.

Application Fee: Candidates need to pay the application fee on or before deadline. For UR/OBC/EWS: Rs 100, For Women/SC/ST: No fee and for PwD: No fee. Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Posts will be filled in through this recruitment process. The eligible candidates are advised to submit their online application for the post of India Post GDS through the official website.

Education Qualification: Candidates who have passed class 10th with Mathematics and English as compulsory or elective subjects from a recognized Board of School Education can apply for the India Post Gramin Dak Sevak posts.

So, Applicants must have passed class 10 examination with passing marks in mathematics and English (studied as compulsory subjects). The candidates who have passed class 10 examination in the first attempt will be treated as meritorious against those who have passed through the compartment. Knowledge of local language and the basic computer is a must.

Age Limit: Minimum Age: 18 Years And Maximum Age: 40 Years. Applicants should not be of less than 18 years and above 40 years. There is relaxation of age for some category of applicants. Age relaxation is applicable to SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD/ EWS Candidates as per rules. Local Language: The candidate should have studied the local language of their region at least up to class 10.

Selection Process: The selection will be done on the basis of automatically generated merit list made on the basis of candidates’ online application. Only marks obtained in class 10 exam will be considered.

How to Apply for India Post GDS Recruitment?​


India Post is seeking applications for filling up vacancies at the Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) positions. Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the West Bengal Postal Circle via India Post’s official website. Candidates should fallow the below given simple steps for submission of online application.

  1. Visit the official website of India Post
    Candidates need to visit the official website of India Post .

  2. Candidate registration
    Initially, a candidate has to register in the Registration module once per cycle and obtain a unique registration number

  3. Fee Payment
    UR/OBC/EWS Male need to make the fee payment. In Case of online payment, if no confirmation is received after the deduction of amount from candidate's bank account, candidates can await up to 72 Hours for settlement. Offline payments can be made at any Head Post Office

  4. Fill Application
    Candidates fill the online application with required details at this stage

  5. Upload documents.
    After filling the details, candidates need to upload the required documents at this Stage

  6. Submit Post preferences
    After filling the data in application form, candidates should submit Post preferences.

  7. Take a print
    After completion of above said all stage, click on the preview and check details once. Finally submit the online application form and take a print out. Completion of these stages will only be treated as submission of application.

Instructions to Candidates: Please go through the notification thoroughly before applying online for job profile, other eligible conditions and selection criteria, etc.. A candidate can apply for a maximum of twenty posts all over India per cycle of online engagement.

This inter alia means that a prospective candidate can apply for twenty posts on a single application spread across one Circle or several Circles. This cap of twenty posts is inclusive of vacancies arising in candidate’s home Circle.

Home Circle means belonging or native / domicile state of a prospective candidate in which he is permanently residing and that Postal Circle is providing opportunity. Hence, candidates should exercise due care while utilizing the twenty choices available to her/him in each Cycle. However, only one post will be offered for each Circle if she/he has applied for one or more posts in each Circle.

Once Registered, the same mobile number will not be allowed for further Registrations of any other candidates also. In case of any duplicate Registration is found by altering the basic details all the candidatures relating to all such Registrations will be removed for consideration of selection.

Secondary School Examination pass certificate of 10th standard with passing marks in Mathematics and English (having been studied as compulsory or elective subjects) conducted by any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments/ Union Territories in India shall be a mandatory educational qualification for all approved categories of Gramin Dak Sevaks.

The candidate should have studied the local language at least up to 10th standard [as compulsory or elective subjects] as declared by the State Government or as per constitutional provisions relating to the 8th schedule of Constitution of India.

  1. What are all the documents I need to upload?​


    For all the candidates, uploading SSC marks memo is mandatory.

  2. Where can I Apply?​


    Candidates can Register in the website for applying to any circle. Candidate can “Apply Online” only when the particular circle notification is live. For the upcoming notifications, details are available on the website.

  3. Shall I need to upload any documents at the time of registration?​


    Yes. Candidate needs to mandatorily upload Photograph and Signature at the time of Registration.

  4. What is the Fee Payable and how can I make Fee Payment?​


    Only Male (OBC/General) candidates need to make a Fee Payment of Rs. 100/- for each set of five posts. A candidate can maximum apply to 20 posts. As such up to 4 fee payments are payable by a candidate. Fee payment can be made at any head post office counters (List of HPOs details are provided in the home page) by providing a copy of registration form or a candidate can make payment through online mode through the link available in the home page.

  5. What details are required to obtain the Registration Number?​


    The following basic details are required to obtain the Registration Number:
    i) Name (In capital letter as per X class certificate Marks Memo including spaces)
    ii) Father Name
    iii) Mobile Number (Unique for one Registration number)
    iv) Date of Birth
    v) Gender
    vi) Community
    vii) PH – Type of Disability – (HH/OH/VH)- Percentage of disability
    viii) State in which X class passed
    ix) Board in which X class passed
    x) Year of Passing X class
    xi) X Class Certificate Number / Roll Number (optional).

  6. Which scanned copies are required for online applying?​


    Keep ready the required scanned copies in prescribed format and size of Photo, Signature, SSC marks memo, DOB certificate if DOB not on SSC marks memo, additional SSC marks memos if any, Community (SC /ST /OBC /EWS) certificate if applicable, computer certificate, PH certificate if applicable for hassle-free applying

  7. How much is application fee for GDS Recruitment?​


    Applicants from the OC/OBC/EWS Male/Trans-man category must pay Rs100 as an application fee, whereas all female/trans-woman candidates are exempted from paying the application fee for GDS recruitment.
