The National Testing Agency (NTA) is inviting applications for the National Council for Hotel Management Joint Entrance Examination (NCHM JEE) 2023.

Those who pass the exam can join BSc hospitality and hotel administration courses at Institutes of Hotel Management (IHM). Interested candidates can apply within the given time frame. All participating institutes accept NCHM JEE scores for admission to B.Sc (HHA) courses.

NCHM JEE Eligibility Criteria​


To appear for NCHM JEE 2023, a candidate must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Age: The upper age limit is 25 years as of July 1, 2023. However, SC/ST candidates have a relaxation of five years.
  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with English as one of the subjects. Those who are appearing for their 10+2 exams can also apply.
  • Minimum Marks: General and OBC category candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate in their 10+2 exams. SC/ST category candidates must have secured at least 45% marks.

NCHM JEE Application Process​


The application process for NCHM JEE 2023 is expected to begin in the first week of January 2023. The following are the steps to apply:

NCHM JEE 2023 will be a computer-based test (CBT) and will consist of 200 objective type questions. The following table shows the exam pattern:

In the practice of model papers, candidates are more likely to achieve higher marks in less time if they follow certain precautions in the actual examination.

It is difficult to find answers to all the questions given in the questionnaire. That is why you have to choose the questions that can be answered in the front row. If you do not find the answer to the question, if it is not in the answer options that come up, or if you do not understand the question when you read it, leave the question and choose another question.

Don’t waste too much time on a single question. Make it a habit to do a sample questionnaire on a daily basis. Candidates should improve by practicing more questions on the topics that are weak.

Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude: Elementary Mathematics, Arithmetic, Number System, Scare Routes, Cube Routes, Fractions and Decimals, Simplification, Variation, Ratio and Proportion, Average, Simple Interest, Simple Interest Questions related to calendars are asked.

Reasoning and Logical Deduction: Topics include Analytical Reasoning, Direction and Distance, Linear Arrangements, Number Series, Matrix Arrangements, Blood Relationship Test. Practice sample questions as much as possible. This is the only way to achieve high marks in this section. The better these questions are solved the better score can be achieved.

English Language: Answers can be easily identified if you know the rules of English grammar. Special attention should be paid to these. Sentence Arrangements and Sentence Corrections questions are based on these rules.

Questions come from vocabulary, antonyms, synonyms. An important feature for candidates is to read the information given in a short time and remember the important or necessary information in it.

Reading and memorizing questions first in Comprehension Passages will make it easier to identify the information needed to read the information given in the passage later. Must read English daily newspaper.

General Knowledge & Current Affairs: Questions come from history, geography, politics and economics. There are questions about India and neighboring countries. Central Government Schemes, Budget, Summits involving India, their highlights, respective countries, their capitals, currency, Prime Ministers, Presidents, UNESCO-recognized areas should be increased.

Gather information on music, dance, people in the news, winners of current games, book authors, sports policies in India related to sports. The information required for the test can be obtained by reading the mandatory daily newspapers.

Service Sector Aptitude: The questions in the Service Sector Aptitude section are related to the hospitality and service sectors. Read the question, think, and find the answer with discernment. Raising awareness on the hotel industry and the service sector can lead to more questions being answered.
