NSDC International (NSDCI), a subsidiary of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), introduced the Global Job Readiness Program (GJRP) in collaboration with Deakin University, an Australian educational institution on 4th of March, 2024. The GJRP initiative was launched on the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) platform.

This international job readiness program will provide training at two proficiency levels, namely Foundation and Intermediate, determined through a pre-program assessment process. Participants in the program, specifically Indian youth, will engage in live training sessions and develop diverse skills using various resources such as videos, flip cards, diagrams, and other visual aids.

The program aims to provide a user-friendly interface, thorough search capabilities, personalized recommendations, online assessments, and job matching services.

Delivered online, the program provides training in six crucial areas for young talent, encompassing soft skills such as communication, collaboration, problem-solving, innovation, digital literacy, and financial literacy.

Upon program completion, students will undergo a post-program assessment and, as a result, receive a digital badge and certification. This recognition aids them in navigating seamlessly through the ever-changing employment landscape. Additionally, the program includes a performance scale report for both pre and post assessments, offering students insight into their performance.

Ravneet Pawha, Vice President (Global Alliances) and CEO (South Asia) at Deakin University said that it is thrilling to witness the strategic initiative of collaboration between Deakin University and NSDC International, unlocking the potential of India’s ambitious young professionals. Through the combination of Deakin’s global expertise and NSDC’s dedication to skill development, the program is set to provide a unique skill set that bridges the gap between industry needs and skill acquisition. This partnership paves the way for a future where India’s workforce distinguishes itself as globally competitive, making a significant contribution to the nation’s progress.
