1 Prime Minister Narendra Modi launches PM Vishwakarma Yojana for traditional artisans and craftsmen​

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the PM Vishwakarma Scheme for traditional craftsmen and artisans at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti . On this occasion, Shri Modi released the Prime Minister Vishwakarma logo, tag line, portal, customized stampsheet, tool kit, e-booklet and a video. The objective of the scheme is not only to financially support the artisans and craftsmen in rural and urban areas across the country, but also to keep the age-old tradition, culture and diverse heritage alive and prosperous through local products, arts and crafts. 18 traditional crafts have been included in the PM Vishwakarma Yojana . Earlier, Mr. Modi in Dwarka International Convention and Exhibition Centre- Yashobhoomi dedicated to the nation. Yashobhoomi is one of the largest convention and exhibition venues in the world. The convention center built on an area of more than 73 thousand square meters has 15 convention rooms. These include the main auditorium, grand ballroom and 13 meeting rooms with a total capacity to hold 11 thousand delegates. The convention center has the country’s largest LED media screen. Its main auditorium has a seating capacity of about six thousand people. Shri Narendra Modi also inaugurated the extension of the Airport Metro Express Line from Dwarka Sector 21 to ‘Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25’ station at Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25.

2 Shantiniketan of West Bengal included in UNESCO World Heritage List​

Shantiniketan in Birbhum district of West Bengal has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List . It was established in 1901 by Maharishi Debendranath Tagore, father of Nobel Prize-winning Rabindranath Tagore . It is a residential school and art center based on ancient Indian traditions. Shantiniketan presents a vision of the unity of humanity beyond religious and cultural contradictions. In recognition of the unity of humanity or Visva Bharati, a universal university was established in Shantiniketan in 1921 .

3. A program was organized at Kuno National Park to mark the completion of one year of Project-Cheetah.​

An event was organized at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh to mark the completion of one year of implementation of Project Cheetah in India . Speaking at the event, C.P. Goyal, Director General of Forests and Special Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, said that the implementation of Project Cheetah is beneficial for both wildlife and local communities. Project Cheetah is the first intercontinental transcontinental transfer program . Last year, the Government of India had signed MoUs with Namibia and South Africa to bring eight African leopards from Namibia and twelve leopards from South Africa to India.

4 India becomes the 13th country to get the right to standardize measuring instruments​

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution said on Thursday that India has become the 13th country in the world to issue certificates authorized by OIML (International Organization of Legal Metrology), an internationally accepted intergovernmental organization. Now domestic manufacturers will be able to get their weights and all other types of measuring instruments tested in India and then sell them in the international market . OIML organization was founded in 1955 Legal metrology was created to promote global standardization of procedures that underpin and facilitate international trade. India became its member in 1956. The other 12 countries which have this right before India are Australia, Switzerland, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, France, Britain, Japan, Netherlands, Sweden and Slovakia.

5 Geological Survey of India Training Institute signs MoU with ISRO for five years​

The Geological Survey of India Training Institute (GSITI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bengaluru -based Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for five years . This MoU is part of the National Natural Resources Management System (NNRMS) programme . The broad objective of this collaborative project is to provide comprehensive training programs that promote capacity building in the field of mineral resources and disaster management under the (National Natural Resource Management System) NNRMS programme. The main objective of the project focuses on the development of skilled human resources capable of handling critical challenges.

6 Aadhaar, driving license, birth certificate will be single document for jobs from next month​

The Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Act, 2023 is going to come into force across the country from October 1, 2023 . This means that from now onwards the importance of birth certificate will increase a lot. This certificate will be used alone for school, college admission, application for driving license, inclusion of name in voter list, Aadhaar registration, marriage registration or government job application. Both houses of Parliament had passed the Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Bill, 2023 in the monsoon session concluded last month. In this, there was a demand for amendment in the 1969 Act.

7 42 km Kargil International Marathon in Ladakh​

Ladakh In , Secretary Youth Services and Sports Ravindra Kumar Dangi and GOC-8 Mountain Division Major General Sachin Malik flagged off the 42 km Kargil International Marathon . More than two thousand three hundred runners from all over the world are participating in this marathon. It has been organized by the district administration Kargil and Ladakh Police in collaboration with Pune- based NGO Sarhad .

8 Punjab government launches pilot project to promote organic farming​

In Punjab , to promote organic farming , the state government has started a pilot project under which basmati crop is grown in Chogawan block of Amritsar district . Cultivation has been done in such a way that no residue is produced. Residue-free farming involves minimal or no use of chemicals. Chogawan block is located in the valley of river Ravi and has favorable climatic conditions for nurturing the most aromatic long grain Basmati rice, making it an export quality produce. State Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian said an awareness campaign has also been launched in the region to make farmers aware about the judicious use of pesticides and the use of about 10 pesticides/fungicides on the Basmati crop has been banned. .

9 Defense Ministry approves purchase of military equipment worth Rs 45,000 crore​

The Defense Ministry has almost approved the procurement of various weapon systems and other equipment at a cost of Rs 45,000 crore , including Dhruvastra short-range air-to-surface missiles and 12 Su-30 MKI fighter aircraft. The Defense Acquisition Council (DAC), headed by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh , approved a total of nine procurement proposals. The Defense Ministry said that all these purchases will be made from Indian vendors , which will provide a substantial boost to the Indian defense industry towards achieving the goal of ‘ self-reliant India ‘.

10 Apple switches to USB-C on iPhone 15 due to EU regulations​

Apple has adopted the USB-C port in the iPhone 15 to comply with European Union (EU) regulations. 11 France bans iPhone 12 sales due to radiation concerns​

France ‘s radiation monitoring agency, Agence Nationale des Frequences (ANFR) banned the sale of Apple’s iPhone 12 after tests showed that the radiation produced by the smartphone exceeds European radiation exposure limits. The Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) of the iPhone 12 was found to be higher than legally allowed. Jean-Noël Barrot , France’s junior minister for the digital economy Suggested that a software update could potentially resolve the problem. However, if Apple does not resolve the issue, ANFR could order a recall of the device in France. Apple has refuted ANFR’s findings, citing certification from international bodies that the iPhone 12 complies with global radiation standards. SAR stands for Specific Absorption Rate, which is a measure of the rate at which the human body absorbs radiofrequency energy from devices. This is relevant because it helps assess the potential health effects of a device’s emitted radiation.

12 Scrub typhus infection increasing in Odisha​

Authorities in Odisha ‘s Bargarh district have reported cases of scrub typhus infection in recent weeks. have confirmed at least five deaths due toTwo of the deceased were from Sohela block, while one each from Attabira, Bheden and Barpali blocks of the district. Samples from the region were tested in August and September, with a total of four patients confirmed to have scrub typhus. It is being told that all four patients are recovering. Scrub typhus is a vector-borne disease spread by the bites of infected chiggers, which are larval mites. These mites usually come in contact with humans in fields, forests and village ponds. Scrub typhus is common during the rainy season. This mite usually prefers certain areas like river banks, grassy areas and forests.

13 BAE Systems and L&T partner to bring BVS10 allterrain vehicle to India​

BAE Systems Inc. and Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (L&T) have partnered to bring the world-leading Articulated All-Terrain Vehicle (AATV) , BVS10 , to the Indian market, the company announced through an exchange filing. The two companies have signed an agreement to offer the BvS10 for the Indian Armed Forces programme. Under the agreement, L&T is the lead bidder for the Indian market, in collaboration with BAE Systems Haglunds, the Swedish manufacturer of the highly successful BvS10 family of vehicles. To meet the specific requirements of the Indian Armed Forces, BAE Systems and L&T have undertaken the upgrade of the BVS10. The result of this joint effort is a new variant named ‘BVS10-Indus’.

18 Indian team won the title of Asia Cup 2023​

The final match of Asia Cup 2023 was played on 17 September in Colombo . In the match, the Indian team won the title by defeating Sri Lanka by 10 wickets . The real hero of this match was Indian fast bowler Mohammad Siraj , who single-handedly defeated Sri Lanka by taking 6 wickets and won the title for the Indian team. Siraj got the title of Player of the Match.

19 Hyderabad Liberation Day​

Hyderabad Liberation Day marks the liberation of Hyderabad from the rule of the Nizam of Hyderabad on September 17, 1948 . On this day, the Nizam of Hyderabad surrendered along with his army and Hyderabad successfully acceded to India. India launched Operation Polo on 13 September 1948 to liberate Hyderabad from Nizam rule . This mission continued for five continuous days. It is noteworthy that on September 17, 1948, the erstwhile princely state of Hyderabad was merged into the Indian Union. The action taken to merge Hyderabad with India was named Operation Polo.
