In a joint effort to promote environmental sustainability and enhance the greenery of the campus, Smiling Tree partnered with Ramjas College for a plantation drive.
The plantation drive, held in the serene ambience of the Botanical Garden area within the college campus, saw the planting of over 100 saplings of various indigenous plant species. Dr. Mukesh Kwatra, founder of Smiling Tree, spearheaded the initiative, emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation and community engagement.
Speaking about the collaboration, Dr. Kwatra expressed his gratitude towards Ramjas College for their proactive approach towards environmental stewardship. He highlighted the significance of such initiatives in fostering a sense of responsibility towards nature among the young generation.
Professor Suresh of Ramjas College emphasized the college’s commitment to sustainability and applauded the collaborative effort with Smiling Tree. “The plantation drive not only adds to the aesthetic appeal of the campus but also serves as a living testament to the institution’s dedication to environmental consciousness”, he said.
Smiling Tree is a twelve year old green initiative founded by Dr Mukesh Kwatra and supported by his children Aarav Kwatra and Alina Kwatra. It has planted over eight lakh trees in and around Delhi-NCR region. Besides, it has been relentlessly working towards betterment of the environment and promoting sustainability by conducting awareness campaigns, waste to wonder workshops, Anti-Plastic Drives etc. They have voluntarily installed hundreds of Vertical Gardens made using old plastic bottles in scores of schools, colleges and other institutions.
Smiling Tree and Ramjas College are committed to furthering their collaboration in promoting environmental awareness and conservation efforts.
